Stable Tales Story

The 22 acre property, was home to 20 plus horses over 36 years, a horse drawn carriage collection, lovingly restored by Bronwyn’s father, John, several sets of original leather harness and general horse memorabilia.

The horses and vehicles were used for: weddings, films (including Tracks of Glory and Sun on the Stubble), T.V. commercials, the Queens Royal Tour in 1986 at Glenelg.

The property was home to one of South Australia’s prominent brewery’s clydesdale horse team. The promotional team travelled Australia participating in parades, country shows and fairs.

The horse business ceased in the late 1990’s, the vineyard was planted and the aging horses became weeders and pruners of the property. The last of the horses, Quazi, the mascot to the clydesdale team was laid to rest in his favourite spot on 24th August, 2019.
